Heads or tails? We’ve all used a coin to make a tough decision. The standard coin features two sides. Heads being the front, tails being the back. [SENTENCE FRAGMENT] When we picture a challenge coin, we think of a coin with two sides. Not all challenge coins are the same. [DELETE] Not every challenge coin has a design on the back. Sure, most coins are dual-sided coins. But single-sided coins have their own benefits. Below we examine single and dual-sided coins. Exploring their advantages and disadvantages. [SENTENCE FRAGMENT]

Dual-Sided Coins

Dual-sided coins are what we are all familiar with. They are the most common. Most coins have a prominent feature on the front and supporting details on the back. They provide ample space for information. The "heads" side [RESEARCH TIME – IT HAS A NAME] typically features a logo and text. The rear [RESEARCH TIME – IT HAS A NAME] features other elements that relate to the purpose of the coin. Some dual-sided coins feature the same layout on both sides. These coins have several benefits. They allow more space for color and images. They also have an area for symbols, messages, and other details. Dual-sided coins are more attractive. Keep in mind that dual-sided challenge coins are more expensive than single-sided coins.[PER OUR COIN TEAM, NO THEY’RE NOT]

Single-Sided Coins

Single-sided coins are perfect for commemorative and memorial coins. They have grown tremendously in popularity. A single-sided coin includes the artwork and text on the front. The back of the coin will be blank and smooth. The front of a single-sided coin is clean and defined. A one-sided challenge coin will make a visual impact quickly. Design elements are precise and thoughtfully located. Logos are centered while the text provides a clear message. A single-sided coin should feature an impressive, attractive composition. They express their message effectively thanks to unique elements. Typically single-sided coins are used for display purposes. Single-sided challenge coins are a cost-effective way to create challenge coins. [SEE ABOVE NOTE. THERE IS NO PRICE DIFFERENCE.] They also make outstanding awards and trophies.

Although many custom challenge coins have two sides, there are times when one side is enough. With a better understanding of both, you can choose which option will work best. Find out more about designing custom challenge coins right here.
