How are challenge coins made?

We create a custom die mold of your coin’s design and use it to mint your order. Then, we finish the coins in your chosen metal plating, fill colors, and put on any last touches your design needs!

It all starts by creating a custom die mold of your coin's design. We use this die to strike your design onto coin blanks made of sturdy zinc or brass alloy. Then, we add any options that require altering the metal itself, like diamond-cut edges.

The coins are then deburred and electroplated in the metal of your choosing.

Once they're plated, we fill colors by hand using syringes for precision and add any last touches, like the ribbon for medallions. Your coins are heat-cured, packed in individual PVC pouches (or one of our premium options) and boxed up for shipping!
